iPhone SMS+ / Flashenhancer Alternatives ??

I cant get any of these to work on my iphone 4 ios 5.1.1 :-(

I want SMS+ to read out my sms messages when i tap the screen, and i want flashenhancer to flash the led flash for notifications.


Does anyone know of any alternative apps or all in one app that can do this ?

The tweak "Aloud" can do what your asking and also read out loud any other notification you wish.

For the LED Flash no tweak is needed because that feature is built into IOS. It can be reached by going to Settings>General>Accessibility>LED Flash for Alerts.

I go ahead a look at the aloud app now.
Can you set it so it only reads the message/notification if you tap a banner on the lock screen?


I know about the built in flash led setting but it only works if the phone is set on silent.

Do you know an app that will mate it flash even with the sound settings on?

I'm not entirely sure about being able to tap the screen to read messages but in the description it says that you can set it up to use Activator features so it seems it should be possible.

Also, I have an iPhone 4S on 5.1.1 and the LED flash works without the phone being on silent. I just double checked to be sure.

I just set the led setting again and it worked

There must have been an app clashing with it when i tried it the last time.


I gave the Aloud app a go as it seemed like just what I'm looking for but its simply not working.

I've tried leaving it with the default settings, playing around with the activator settings and copying the settings i found on a youtube video, but no matter what i do it wont read out anything even if i set it to read out the message immediately.


Is there any other good apps out there that will do what i want?

Hmmm very strange. I was using Aloud for quite a while on my 4S and never had a problem. I haven't used it in a while though. If I recall correctly I believe there was a conflict with LockInfo and the way LI processes and captures notifications for its Notification Center/InfoShade feature. When I get a chance I'll install Aloud and see if it works. I'm currently not using LockInfo so if the tweak works I'll have nothing that interferes. I'm running just a few jailbreak tweaks at the moment.

I had another play with the aloud app today but i still cant get it to work.

It seems to be trying to do something though as when its installed my message tone either cuts out half way or doesn't play at all.

I've also tried uninstalling rebooting and then reinstalling it but it must leave some files behind as all the setting i changed are still there.


Is there any way of completely uninstalling it and starting a fresh (I've tried search for it with ifile) ?

I just tried installing icaughtu pro and that doesn't seem to be working either.


It sends me a sms message (without location) if i use a wrong passcode, but it wont accept any sms commands or send me any emails.


Could this be linked to the other apps not working or is it just a known problem with icaughtu pro?
