SMS Helper - Count characters in an SMS (Cydia)

Has anyone tried SMS Helper on the BigBoss repo? It's actually an amazingly flawless addon for the default SMS app that does exactly what you'd expect it to do already.

It alters the 'Send' button to read the current amount of characters in the message body. And tells you when you go over a single message (160 chars)

The count is displayed as '123/1' to show the characters and number of messages it will take up.
I honestly cannot fault it and just wanted to let everyone else know that it exists.

Yeh I downloaded it the day it appeared on Cydia and I was amazed at what it did. Even though it's such a simple thing it's taken THIS long for someone to make it?!

There's been an update since the initial release to fix a bug but I couldn't really say I'd noticed anything wrong. It did change to showing the number of messages you would be sending I think too though.

Yup its good, added it the day it appeared on cydia. One thing tht was missing in iphone is there now with this plugin.

Yeah, I've been using it a while. Absolutely flawless implementation of a very useful feature.

The new version has changed slightly in that it says the number of messages used at the same time as the character count, also it flips around from the count to the normal send button after a small period of inactivity on the keyboard.

Personally I'm finding it flips a bit too quickly for me - could do with adding a couple seconds to the time out flip, as it can be a bit distracting when thinking about what next to text..

Also it needs to add MMS support somehow - perhaps a carrier specific version?

The change to red when you go over a text is brilliant - maybe a darker red the more times you go a text over as well?

Nit picking really though, its ace.

Edit: Actually I've just noticed it does support MMS but only if you take a shot from within the messages app not if you go to the camera roll first and then chose to send it as an MMS.

yes it's developed by a man named Ryan Petrich....if you want to try out another killer app he made, check out 'inspell' it's a spell checker for the iphone...just like how you would use it on your PC.

I don't have much of a use for it, but I'll keep it because of the way it's implemented is great.
