SMS / MMS Issue

So I am beyond confused…. I have a few group texts that have a mix of iPhone and Android people. For some reason over the last few weeks when I send a text or MMS. It shows up as “Not Delivered !” However they are being delivered!

The absolute crazy thing is I’ve discovered if I turn OFF iMessage in the message settings. This issue disappeared. But as soon as I turn iMessage back on bam issue is back.

I am wondering if it’s because of iOS 18 and my carrier (Xfinity) not yet supporting RCS for iPhone. With this even though I didn’t have the toggle for RCS something isn’t playing right with Xfinity? I restored back to iOS 17 and setup as new and have no issues with the group messages.

Anyone on iOS 18 with a carrier that doesn’t have RCS enabled yet been having any issues with SMS or MMS?

I’ve sent feedback to Apple.

Unfortunately, you can expect these little weird bugs in betas... Im sure it's going to be a carrier profile update or a slight change in iOS that will fix the problems coming up.

I have this problem. I have tried to report it repeatedly with the feedback tool. It happens on any non imessage group thread.

They might have fixed it in iOS 18.0 DB 5 (PB 3). I sent a video to a group chat with all iPhone users and one Android user and it sent without issue and didn't say "Not Delivered". I was getting that same bug/issue before DB 5/PB 3.

I am still having the same issue. I am on the latest beta. I have to resend, but then subsequent texts usually go without a problem.
