iPhone SMS on GV tweak?

Anyone use this on iOS 8 yet? It's not very clear on how it integrates GV texts into the native system. For example, how do you choose which number you are texting from? And how do you know which number someone texted you at?

I use it. On the 'SMSonGV iPhone Send on GV' menu, you choose a 'Default SMS Send' method, either carrier or google voice. Then, there's a companion app that is installed by default where you can setup rules. For example: If you choose the default send method as carrier, you can setup a rule that when you text specific numbers it will automatically send via Google Voice.

What about if you choose to send thru google voice. Would it work on data only? Or does it use sms rates?
