Prior to the release of Mountain Lion, I had Lion and had downloaded the beta version of messages. At that time, I was able to view SMS pictures, on my beta version of messages, that had been sent to me and I was also able to click and drag pictures from my Macbook pro into messages and send to another person with an iphone or other mac computer with the message beta. Since the new release of Mountain Lion, this feature no longer exist. I was wondering if this feature is not currently included in the new messages for Mac or if I have some feature not checked in my preferences? I have checked up and down through preferences and didn't notice anything that would indicate the option to receive or not receive SMS pictures.

any help would be a appreciated.

My girlfriend gets pictures that are text to her messages on her macbook pro but I don't. I am guessing the feature is still available but I am not sure why mine isn't working now.

I've been wondering about this, too. Messages works great for me except that pictures don't appear.

I really like the Message concept, but until all messages appear on all devices, it's more of a gimmick than a true time-saver. Right now, I still have to keep checking my iPhone after each incoming message, since non-iPhone text messages and photo messages don't show up in Messages on my rMBP.

Mines OK, but we have this issue with the office computers. I'm sure Apple will fix it at some point. It's still early in the life of 10.8.

You bet and I wish they would make things simple again like in iChat for Snow Leopard. Its know 10 times harder to send a SMS message to a BlackBerry and it does not work 90% of the time. I have tried repeatedly to send a SMS message to a non Apple device and Messages always tries to route it via iMessage.

Apple does tend to be inconsistent with it's approach to fixing problems & bugs.
