Hi. While using EDGE to surf website on Safari or using the maps app, I find that SMS retrieval and maybe sent SMS's seem to be a lot slower. I tested this by using a google sms to send an sms from my computer to my phone. While setting my iphone to load a website while on EDGE, I find that it takes a lot longer for the SMS to be retrieved by my phone. Same results with the google maps app. Also, sometimes my sent SMS are not even received by my phone while surfing on EDGE. I was wondering if this happens with all iphones with EDGE or is this just a problem with mine. Thank you.

I know EDGE is a slower system. the problem is that while I am using EDGE, an SMS takes a lot longer to travel to my iphone and trigger the notification. For example, if my phone is on standby and I'm not using it, an SMS sent from my computer to my phone would maybe take 5-10 seconds. But, if I am surfing the web with EDGE, that SMS would take 30 seconds or more and in some cases, I don't receive that SMS at all. This doesn't happen when I'm using WiFi
