SMS ringtones don't work

im trying to add a custom SMS ringtone to my iPhone 3G (2.2.1 jailbroken) but the file won't play. it has the exact same name, is .caf format, and i even tried making it the same length. however, when i select that ringtone it won't play any sound. anyone know why this is happening?

So all your files are called: sms-received1.caf, sms-received2.caf, etc? Were all the files created as .aif files and then renamed .caf?
