SMS says three new messages when there are none

Hi everyone,

My SMS icon tells me I have three new messages when I have no new messages. Is there a way to correct this warning? Thanks in advance.
 
delete from the contact(s) you think they are from. Had same issue but when you start deleting some texts it goes away.
