Iphone 4s Tmobile.

So I noticed that my APN settings changed for MMS and now my SMS is not working. I flew yesterday and switched from airplane mode, not sure if this had anything to do with this problem. I can make calls, just cant send text's. I can receive though. What do I need to do/redo? All was working fine previously (including MMS). Thanks

Edit: what should be in the APN settings for Cellular data? I believe all the APN settings have changed. Not sure how or why. What do I do to avoid these settings from changing again?

I did, and when the phone reboots, the settings change. How do I stop the settings from changing on reboot?

Update: Did the Cydia thing (http://support.t-mobile.com/thread/17918?start=15&tstart=0 post 29) and the settings were on tmobile. And then it happened, I actually watched the settings change before my eyes. Something is changing the settings from tmobile back to vodafone. Worked ok for days until I flew to another state and came back yesterday. Help!!

My wife's phone has this problem.

We have not figured out a way to get it to permanently stop.
Each time we have to connect her phone to the laptop and do this: http://support.t-mobile.com/thread/17918.

It's a huge headache and we have just decided to move her over to straight talk to avoid any issues.
Yeah, did that one to get the MMS working. So here's my latest dilemma, texting wasn't working, it was recommended to delete the carrier bundle, and now my phone wants to activate and eventually goes to "sim not valid". Looks like I might be doing a restore. Grrrrrrr

Straight Talk requires custom APN settings also.

Ended up doing a full restore, seems to be working as far as the sms and mms, now cant login into imessage/facetime now. Grrrrrrr

Getting iMessage and FaceTime working with your cell number on a non-official number is a common problem and there is no real solution for it (that I have ever seen/read about).
Unofficial carrier networks don't process the iMessage/FaceTime activation code correctly, they see it as an International SMS.

I did a restore the other day and also thought FaceTime / iMessage were broken... i thought it might have been because of the jailbreak or because I use the commcenter patch... spent hours searching around online trying to figure out what to do.

In the end, I slept on it and in the morning, both were activated... try that!

Still having problems with texting. I can recieve but not send. And yeah, I slept on it and my imessage/facetime works. Under the pillow, home button facing north, read that somewhere. Looking to swap my verizon for a AT&T. Tired of these problems.

I also found that restoring some of the old SMS files (SMS.db, etc) screwed things up a little. When I restored everything except for the folder called 'parts' (see screenshot), everything MMS related worked as normal again. Before that, I could only partially receive and couldn't send...

So is your SMS and MMS working fine? I'm ready to delete the carrier bundle folder. I believe I did that with my daughters phone and she has no problems. I deleted my carrier bundle folder once before and really messed things up and had to do a restore. This time I think I'll remove the carrier bundle right after JB and then do furious mod, then unlock and see what happens. What a pain.

Yes, all working fine now, since I did another restore and then only restored sms.db and not the 'parts' or 'attachments' folders. First time since I've had an iPhone 3G since I've done a complete & utter 'restore as new phone' type of restore.

However, my handset is factory unlocked anyway and my sim is one from an 'official' carrier, so using correct apn's is not an issue for me as it might be for you... not sure if yours is an 'official sim' or not...
