SMS tone/color help

hey i had a question. I know how to change the smstone and all, but how about this. The smstone i implemented is about 30 seconds. once i open the message the tone plays in its entirety which is kind of annoying. Anyone know of a way besides shortening the file of making it so it turns off when the message is opened?


I also know that if you SSH into your phone you can change the bubble colors, I was wondering if someone could give me the file path of how to use winterboard to do this.

1) I think that re-writing the code to stop the sound when the message app is opened is not likely gonna happen.

2) Don't need Winterboard to SSH the Message mods into your phone

Using SSH navigate to:

/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/ChatKit.framework/

and replace the Balloon_1.png and Balloon_2.png files with the .png images/colors of your choice. Cyberduck works great.

Balloon_1.png is the Sender (you)
Balloon_2.png is the Recipient (your friend)

Don't forget to back up the original files before overwriting them.
