SMS/txt application - how to get rid of keyboard and view the WHOLE message?

If your replying to a sms message but want to remove the keyboard, is there any way of doing it without deleting your txt, exiting the message and then re-entering the message?

Any secret taps or tips?

Well, you can still scroll the message thread in the half-screen above the keyboard, to be able to read all the thread.
