SMS with a link to open in Chrome app?

Is there a way when I receive an SMS with a link to open up in Chrome app instead of mobile Safari?

1. tap-and-hold the link until the dialog opens up allowing you to Copy the link.
2. Double-tap home button and switch to Chrome
3. Tap into address bar, tap-and-hold then Paste the link.

There might be some jailbreak method to open it directly in Chrome, but I don't follow that stuff. The above is the only way to do it in stock iOS as far as I know.

No more stream lined way?

Not that I know of, but perhaps someone else does.

iOS does not (so far) allow designating alternates for the default applications such as email and web browsing.

Only if you JB it.
It cannot be done on stock iOS firmware.
