smtp.cwmx.com down?

I was able to get mail from my Exchange server via IMAP but, like some others here, needed to use an outside SMTP server to send mail. A few people here recommended smtp.cwmx.com (AT&T) for this purpose, leaving the username and password blank.

This has been working, but suddenly today, whenever I try to send mail, I get the message that the phone was unable to connect with the smtp.cwmx.com server. Anyone else experiencing this? Is a username/password now required?

I never needed the "smtp" in front of cwmx.com to work.

THANKS! Just using the "cwmx.com" seems to have made all the difference, at least for today
