Snapchat issues with iOS 10?

Any Snappers with iOS 10 out there feel that Snapchat lags so much in iOS 10 it's almost unusable?

When I open Snapchat, I have to wait for a good 3-5 seconds before the camera would even turn on, and if I swipe left or right right away, it will freeze my phone for a bit - basically 3-5 seconds for the camera to turn on, and another 3-5 seconds for everything to load properly so that I can fully use everything, if that makes any sense.

Now once it loads properly (meaning if i wait long enough), it still works seamlessly fine.

Didn't experience that with iOS 9 before. I did a fresh install when iOS 10 GM was published, and every other app works just fine, it's just Snapchat that I've seen a dramatic decrease in its performance and quality.

Any one else here with similar expeirence or any fixes?

6s Plus here.. I agree, definitely a lag present. Before it would open when not even in memory and be ready within a second or so, now its 3-4 seconds even if just tapping to use the front facing camera.

Guess we'll just have to wait for Snapchat to update their app.

I've heard from a few different sources that its a poorly optimized app in general, and even much worse on Android (Snapchat CEO hates Android so apparently its done on purpose).

SnapChat is a horrible battery drain app. You can see the percentage drop pretty quick while using it. Not sure why they don't just optimize it correctly.

One of the reasons though is due to the fact its always displaying the video recording viewfinder, even if you're on one of the other screens.
