In El Paso, 3G was getting about 1.4 Mbps. Hotel was 10% of that.

Just got home in Podunk college station and I'm only getting about 500 Kbps.

Tested my cable modem... 10.5 Mbps! And my son is in his room playing some intense on-line game. Goodness, goodness.

Lucky bastard!

I have an iphone 3gs and ipad wifi. The iphone 3gs with 3g can do 1-2MBps outside, but it doesn't have a 3g signal at my home. And my ipad wifi can only get a merely 500-700Kbps because i stuck with this crappy ADSL line by telkom corp. Btw telkom corp have monopoly for internet in my area, so there is no option. Greedy corporation!!!!

I'm about 40 miles west of Chicago. My iPhone 3G will get a consistent 1.5 down, same tethered to iPad.
I pay for the cheapest AT&T "DSL" (like $19.99 a month) and on average see about 2.6 down.

Just my info to throw into the mix..
