I love using Snapseed on my iPhone and iPad - especially like the Portrait presets. Any suggestions of a similar program that I could use on MacOS? (Photos extension would be nice but not a deal breaker.)

I have several other programs - primarily use Pixelmator and Pixelmator Pro for edits that Apple Photos can't handle - but would prefer something quick and dirty like Snapseed when I have a bunch of photos of people..

Thanks.

I can't quite recall but I think Snapseed shared tech with Nik Software and both were bought by Google. DxO now owns Nik, and has reissued those plugins. The U-point thing is I think similar, although it's been quite a while since I used it. They have periodic sales on the Nik stuff, but haven't done a whole lot with them since acquiring them.

I also think Luminar works similar to Snapseed - lots of effects you can select and edit and it also works as a Photos extension.

Luminar is quite different than Snapseed (which has fairly unique controls) in that Luminar does layers and such kind of like a mini-Photoshop. Probably if you've got Pixelmator/Pixelmator Pro you've got that covered; I'd prefer both over Luminar but YMMV.

Yup, I’ve got both Pixelmator and Luminar. The u point tech in Snapseed is quite unique and I like how it works and it’s still one of my favourite editors on iOS. I no longer use it on Mac since it was deprecated and was missing some tools but for getting results quickly, Luminar is a great option over the likes of Pixelmator.
