Hi,

today I’m presenting you my first iOS app, which was just released on the App Store!

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/snipnotes/id967594709

Imagine, you are searching the internet for a new job and want to note contact information about potential employers. With SnipNotes you don’t even need to close your browser to do that. Simply copy the text into clipboard, pull down notification center and tap on the big „Save“ button. Later when you need the information again, tap on the saved entry and the text will return to your clipboard, so you can use it in another app.

In addition to the save functionality, SnipNotes analyzes the stored text, displays an appropriate icon and lets you perform actions. For example, if a phone number is recognized, long tap on the entry and your iPhone will call the number, long tap on an internet address and Safari will open it etc.

The main app has the purpose of managing your notes. In addition to the widget features, this is the place where you can edit, sort and delete your notes.

Want to try it out for free? I’m currently running a promotion on Twitter and Facebook.

If you have any questions or feedback, please feel free to answer to this thread. I will try to respond as quickly as possible.

Forgot where you parked your car? Found an interesting place? In addition to clipboard storing, the SnipNotes widget can now also save your current location. This works from anywhere, even from the lockscreen!

Long press on an entry to bring up context actions. If you stored a phone number for example, you can call it directly, send a SMS or search it on the web. If you saved your current location, you can view it in Maps. Actions are also available for hyperlinks, email addresses and regular text.

This update also brings a lot of other improvements, including better readable fonts and a more compact layout. You can find more information about all the new features on the SnipNotes Homepage. The latest news around SnipNotes are also available on Twitter.

If you want to try out SnipNotes for free, head over to the promotion section - I'm currently running a giveaway!

If you have any questions or feedback, please feel free to answer to this thread. I will try to respond as quickly as possible.

Hi,

I'm currently preparing a big update, which will include support for Apple Watch and allow you to save images. To fix as many bugs as possible, I’m looking for beta testers, who want to try out the new version ahead of its release and send me their feedback as well as any errors they encounter.

Everyone can participate, owning SnipNotes is not required. Thereby this is also a good opportunity to try out SnipNotes for free. :)

If you are interested, please send an email to beta@snipnotes.de and include the devices that you own (iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch). As soon as the beta version is available, I’ll send you an invitation with further instructions.

Thanks a lot for your interest and the support!

This update adds support for Apple Watch. You can view your notes right on your wrist as well as dictate new ones or save your current location.

SnipNotes can now save images right from your clipboard, import them from your photo library or take new ones with the camera.

When you save an address, SnipNotes will show you a map of that location. There are new configuration options for the widget available, a new first-launch tutorial and many other useful improvements.

You can find more information about SnipNotes (including a video) on the SnipNotes homepage. The latest news around SnipNotes are also available on Twitter.

If you have any questions or feedback, please feel free to answer to this thread. I'm looking forward to discussing with you!

Hi,

today I have two big news for you:

First of all, you can now download and try out SnipNotes for free! You can try out all the features for as long as you like, but only save five notes at the same time. The full version is available as an in-app purchase and already unlocked for existing users.

Second, SnipNotes has received a new update today, which improves compatibility with iOS 9 and adds several new features:

• You can now use Spotlight to search through your notes as well as open phone numbers and addresses directly. Pull down from the homescreen to get started
• SnipNotes now supports handoff between iOS devices and Apple Watch. When you view a note on one device, you can swipe up from the lockscreen on another device to jump directly to it
• On iPad SnipNotes works nicely with the new multitasking modes
• While viewing a note you can now say to Siri „Remind me tomorrow about this note“ to create a reminder
• If you have an iPhone 6s you can use 3D Touch on the homescreen to quickly create new notes

You can download SnipNotes for free right here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/snipnotes/id967594709

Hi,

I'm happy to announce the beta test for SnipNotes 2.0 - the biggest update for SnipNotes yet!

teaser.jpg

This update will bring a lot of new features:

• Context actions have been dramatically improved: I've added lots of new actions for popular apps like WhatsApp, Evernote, Google Maps and Chrome. You can toggle them on and off in the settings menu. And in the widget each note now has an action button attached on the left side, which you can also configure in settings.
• You can now filter your notes by type, date or favorite status and even combine multiple filters.
• Pull down the list view from the top to reveal the new search bar.
• Notes can now be sorted by creation date or alphabetically.

I will add additional features during the beta. Here is what you can expect:

• A new watch app based on watchOS 2 with improved performance and new features.
• Notes will save automatically during editing.
• An auto-import feature, which saves your clipboard every time you open the app/widget (configurable).

I've created a blog post to give you all the details. You can sign up for the beta today by filling out this short form. I will send you an invitation shortly after.

I'm looking forward to your feedback, so please send me your opinion, suggestions as well as any bugs you may encounter. Thanks for testing!

Hi,

I've released a new beta build with several new features:

teaser_watch.jpg

  • The watch app now runs natively on the watch and takes advantage of watchOS 2:
    • Performance and stability have been improved.
    • You can now use your notes while your iPhone is out of reach. You can even add new notes by voice or location as long as your watch has an active WiFi connection.
    • You can now call phone numbers directly from your watch.
  • In settings you can now setup a 4-digit passcode to secure your notes. Each time you open the app SnipNotes will prompt you for this passcode so no one else can get access. If your device has a Touch ID sensor, you can also use your fingerprint to unlock the app.
  • When you create or edit a note, SnipNotes will now automatically save your input. So if you forget to hit save or the app crashes, your input will still be there the next time you launch SnipNotes.
  • SnipNotes can now save the contents of your clipboard automatically every time you open the app and/or the widget. Passwords from 1Password will be ignored.
More information on these new features are also available in a new blog post.

You can sign up for the beta here: https://www.snipnotes.de/beta/
I will send you an invitation shortly after. Thanks for testing!
