Hey guys. I restored the image to my iBook for the second time and I didn’t get kernel panics this time! I do not have enough RAM for even leopard, it does not recognize the manufacturer of the memory, it is slow, but hey 10.6 on an iBook with 256MB built in RAM. Some pics for proof. I love the SL intro, so nostalgic!
BTW for those that want to do this too:
*you may get kernel panics, be aware*
Step 1:
Download the DMG of 10A190 off Mac Garden.
Step 2:
Grab a FW 400-400 Cable.
Step 3:
Reboot your G4 Mac while holding T
Step 4: Connect the FW 400 cable to the iBook and the other end to another Mac.
Step 5:
Erase your G4/G5 Mac’s HDD.
Step 6:
Open the image in disk utility. It should be called “Untitled 1”.
Clone it/Restore it to the G4/G5 Mac.
Step 7:
Eject the G4 Mac from the other, remove the FW cable. Reboot the G4 Mac holding Shift.
Step 8:
Boot into SL and set it up. Should be slow.
Step 9: Enjoy and get the PPC game on!
