Snow leopard mac mini?

what about the g3 g2 and g1 mac minis?
There were no G1 or G2 Macs anyway, and there was no G3 Mac mini. (http://www.everymac.com/systems/by_processor/index.html)
There are only G4 and Intel Core Solo and Intel Core Duo and Intel Core 2 Duo Mac minis. (http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/mac_mini/index-macmini.html)
That should be okay for internet, but the SSD might be overkill, though it would make the slow experience faster, as a 1.25GHz G4 CPU is not that fast with Leopard, especially with only 1GB of RAM. Can't you get them an early Intel Core Solo Mac mini?
Not really, as the CPU is important too. And as the G4 Mac mini uses a P-ATA (IDE) port, you might pay more for such an SSD, if there even is one, and the P-ATA port will not even fully saturate a current mechanical 5400RPM HDD.
And the speed increase from a G4 to a Intel Core Solo/Duo/ 2 Duo CPU is significant, especially if you find a Core Duo or Core 2 Duo.

1 gb is a must on the 1.25ghz G4 mini, but a ssd , first you need a ultra ata 100 to serial ata adapter , as ultra ata (ide) ssd's are rare as hens teeth if you can find one at all , more importantly is likely to cost more then the mini itself ,
but a faster harddrive is not a bad idea , because the original 4200rpm is a bit on the slow side , but for general surfing , emailing and some office tasks, watching some dvd's sufficient
the 1.42ghz model is a tiny bit faster ..0.17ghz faster to be precise doesnt sound much but makes a difference , both share the same graphic card with 32mb vram
the 1.5ghz mini G4 is the fastest of the lot as it has the same graphics card too , but with 64mb double the vram
just to mention it the eMac G4 1.42 ghz with the ati radeon 9600 with 64mb vram and can take 2 gb ram , will outperform all the G4 minis and iMac g4 ,cost most times just half the price of a mini

If you want a computer that will handle the internet for more than the next year or two, get a Intel Mac Mini - PowerPC Browsers are becoming rare for Tiger already, and with Leopard support going very shortly, I'd get a Core 2 Duo Mac Mini, and wouldnt bother with a SSD, as for internet and email, more RAM and a Faster CPU will do them a lot more good in speed terms than a SSD.
i want the ssd because fast boot up times will be important also they only need around 10 gigs including the OS itself. i will probably be getting a 16 gb ssd or 32 gb ssd. also my budget is around 200 dollars. i can get the sdd for like 50 dollars. but i am looking to spend no more than 200-250 on the mac mini itself.

above is an ebay search for 1.83ghz minis. they are higher then your budget but you need one of them. under 183 does not have the firepower you need. some of them are lower then 300 try to buy one under 300 with 2gb ram up to 4gb and stick in a western digital 320gb scorpio black. with luck you can make a good machine for around 325 to 360

i understand that it has the flashing folder at start up, but i had the same problem with my macbook air and found it just needed a new hard drive. does anyone have any info how to fix that problem? Also i was wondering if anyone could tell me which kind of SSD hard drive i can buy that would be compatible with this mac mini. thank you

Maybe even a simple reinstallation of Mac OS X would suffice.
You can get Snow Leopard for 29 USD, but it does not include iLife, and use that DVD to reinstall Mac OS X.
As for the SSD (Solid State Disk) - HDD stands for Hard Disk Drive, therefore "SSD hard drive" is redundant - you can buy any 2.5" S-ATA SSD you like. The Vertex II by OCZ is a good and fast one and the 60GB one can be had for around 100 €.

That memory will work, but as your used Mac mini already has 512MB, using two 256MB sticks, you will only get 768MB RAM.
Also you have bought a Core Duo Mac mini, which came with 512MB of RAM (auction title), but the description below the photo says Core 2 Duo and 1GB of RAM and the Apple Order number (MB138LL/A - auction title) indicates a Core 2 Duo too.
Seems conflicting information is spread around such auctions.

A normal DVI cable should suffice, as the Mac mini seems to have a normal sized DVI output.

Only applicable if the video out is mini DVI, which seems not to be the case:
A mini DVI to DVI adapter should work, for the Core Duo and for the Core 2 Duo Mac mini.
