has anyone successfully pulled this off?

GGJ, you can save me the links about putting only the version it shipped with, I know that well :) I just have several Rosetta based apps that I frequently enough use and that the developers are still slow on the switch on upgrading, and barring running VMWare and putting SL in a VM (with the "oops" version of Fusion)the Mini I have sitting here is the best candidate I have for downrev'ing. I'll develop a nervous tic if I have to downgrade my Mac Pro :)

Nothing against Lion, I have it on three others here, I like it, it's an application compatibility issue alone and I'd be interested in hearing from someone that's tried and either failed or succeeded and what the trials and tribulations were. Thanks!

Do you have any other Mac with Snow Leopard (and Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard installation media) and an external HDD to which you could install Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard onto?
Can this help?

I got the server to post 8200 geek bench while it posts 9700 geekbench with lion. I followed this 30 page thread

I don't have another machine sitting here running SL, but slapping a drive in my Mac Pro to install SL and patch it to 10.6.8 and push it across via target disc is certainly within the realm of possibility. I have the media in both regular and SL server (both in retail flavors) so that's def a non-issue.

I think the biggest thing is does it even run. We have to remember that we are indeed talking about a machine that never shipped with SL, versus something like the MBP that still has current hardware iterations that shipped with it.
