Snow Leopard Running Great On My PC Netbook

I know this thread is about Windows on Mac's but after some research I found out how to install Snow Leopard on my Acer Aspire One netbook. How awesome is that. I have a $250.00 netbook running Snow Leopard like a little champ, and fast too. I was sick of dealing with Windows on my only PC so now I don't have to anymore.

Just a little video of it booting and shutdown. Booting takes between 30 to 40 seconds and shutdown takes about 2 to 3 seconds. Not shabby for a little 1.6 ghz Atom processor.

Nice job. It also runs quite nicely on the Dell Mini 10 and 10v netbooks.

Wow, that is cool. I had no idea a PC could run Snow Leopard. Would you recommend doing that to other PCs other than Acer?

You need to do some research and see if there is a forum or community that is doing this on your PC. I did have to do one hardware modification. This was the stock wireless card. There are no drivers for the stock A0A 150 wireless card but for some reason the Dell 1390 fits into the Acer perfectly. $13.00 later, new off e-bay, Snow Leopard recognizes it as an airport... lol Honestly, I have had this netbook almost a year and it was running XP nicely but I dealing with antivirus, malware, spyware, and crashes... Three days ago I was messing around as I use my Macbook Pro for work and play and sure enough I found a community on the Acer forum that was doing this on their various netbooks. Takes a bit more work then a bootcamp installation but there are plenty of guides out there. The problems usually comes in with drivers for peripherals. The only thing that does not work on my netbook is sleep mode as this has something to do with the type of bios Acer uses. I can live without sleep mode to run OS X over Windows. Card readers, USB, webcam, wireless, Intel Graphics card, everything else works as it is supposed to.

I think it is well worth it and if you can do it is quite fun.

I got 10.6.1 running on my Dell Mini 9. Works way way better then 10.5.8 and I actually have free space on my SSD. Anyone with the Mini 9 managed to get Headphone output working without static?
