Just woke up to find my neighbourhood caked in snow and its still falling. I'd show a pic but my camera died after the shot, so that'll have to wait. In the meantime a widget is attached

This is very rare. Unfortunately i dunno whether to go to class today cos Lord knows the transport system will be in chaos....especially during rush hour.

You sound like you would enjoy a vacation to Superior, Wisconsin, or Duluth, Minnesota. I've never seen snow like that before.

Here's a pic i took.

dsc00685wg0.jpg

is their a chance that classes might get canceled due to the snow?

Colleges might, Primary schools most likely will BUT Universities tend to be stubborn or 'resilient' as they would say.

Well that's not fair - It's been down to 25 F (-3 C) this winter and I get nothing, but you get snow and it's not even below freezing!

...I'll consider myself lucky. :D

As much as im a fan of the white stuff im not fond of the biting cold that comes with it.

Update: I cant even get to school, there are no trains going that route today.

my feet are frozen

I had to walk to the underground station today.
My toes are numb.
But I have a very nice view of a snow blanketed central London skyline which I'd share with you if it wasnt for the fact that I'm at work on a blimmin' PC and I cant bluetooth the pic from my phone!

Some pics I sent to the BBC today (all except the last one).

All were taken on a 2 year old 4mpx Canon Powershot A80, and are straight from the camera, no tweaking or cropping.

1. Exposed staircase at South Hampstead rail station. The falling snow has a lovely visible grain.

2. Landscape view of South Hampstead station.

3 : A commuter from clan RedTomato waiting for her train at the same station. It never came.

4. Someone else sheltering from the snow.

5. Baby Molly (my daughter) peeping out from her pram at her first snow.

6. Special bonus photo for MR members (I didn't send this to the BBC.)

Someone else from clan RedTomato standing at Kilburn bus stop. I like the old woman peering at me doubtfully :)

Well, if it makes you feel better, it's -20 degrees F here, -35 degrees F with the windchill...gotta love Minnesota! And whoever said the snow in Duluth, MN, it's true...we get more snow around these parts than all of these pictures you guys have posted up combined!

I have been looking forward to going to Mt. Bohemia for just that reason, Lake Superior generates copious amounts of snow.

From Bishopsgate, London. Can't see how hard it was snowing but I thought I'd add it in for novelty sake anyway.
