They are the same, I tried them both, no performance improvements, actually they are both just as bad as beta 5. I tried them on a 5s, no backupps.

Why is 9.1 better?

It's probably not any different other than the new APIs for the iPad pro (Apple Pencil and size difference and new accessories) I highly doubt there is any difference on the iphone between GM and 9.1 Beta 1.

The timing releasing both at once screams 9.1 is for testing the iPad Pro SDK stuff solely. It will likely bring bug fixes for the iphone in later betas to be released in Nov when the iPad Pro ships with 9.1 and Apple releases 9.1 for other all other devices.

I doubt beta 1 is much different on the iphone other than the unicode version with the new emojis as GM and 9.1 beta 1 were probably built about the same time in advance of release today.

I do have iOS9 through the public beta, could download the ipsw for 9.1 Beta, but stuck on 99% for the iOS 9 GM.

I know the betas typically need a developer UDID, but since I was in the Public Beta program I wasn't sure.

Thanks for your feedback. So, I can option "check for update" and use the IPSW? I guess I'll wait. if something goes wrong, I am stuck until 9.1 comes out.

I have tried both, I see zero difference IMO. I do however dislike the new quick reply immensely

New quick reply?
Yes the quick reply pop-up goes full screen for me now versus a small window in iOS 8. Third party keyboards don't seem to play nice with the new quick reply so I disabled it and I'm using banners for messages instead of alerts

iOS 9 has the same quick reply. So you're saying there's a new version in 9.1?
