So Apple lost my iPad (No, actually FedEx is slow to update)

FedEx status has been on "Initiated" for several days. I finally called FedEx, there response was they never received the package and to call Apple. So I did. Apple first told me it was on it's way and to expect it by the 24th of June, until, I asked the representative to double check and upon doing so discovered that in fact FedEx tracking indicates they have not received it. Apple has opened an inquiry to find out what the hell happened to my iPad. Man, this sucks, I placed my order June 6th. To be continued...

Is anyone else having trouble with tracking updates from FedEx?

I have been able to see a tracking screen, but it has said my iPad has been in Shenzen since June 18! No progress since then. I agree with you, this is not cool!
 
Fedex and iPad

My iPad has been sitting at the local distribution center since early Friday morning. At that time delivery was scheduled for the same day by 6:00pm. Well its Monday now and fedex does not even show an expected shipdate on their tracking site now. I tracked it all the way though many cities and when it finally arrives at the destination center, there it sits. What BS

Is the distribution center within driving distance? If its like the one near me you can just go sign for it and take it home.

Your probably using fedex ground, which sucks balls.
 
*Update*

Hazaa! Tracked it again via FedEx and lo and behold, it's in ANCHORAGE, AK and is slated for delivery on the 23rd. So it looks like I will be writing to you guys when it comes. Good luck to everyone and be patient.

heh! Mine is also there. That's a customs entry point in Alaska. Mine has finally cleared customs, so I would imagine it will be in a plane anytime now. Maybe we'll get it tomorrow instead of Wednesday :D ???

mine too :( and refreshing my status every 5 minutes isn't helping either. FedEx still says 23rd though so I hope they aren't lying!! I've been waiting since June 5 grrrr.

I share your pain! I tried all day to reach order-specialist desk at Apple to no avail. They arent taking new calls. They must have a lot of issues like ours.

Apparantly that is normal. That is just what the status says as it goes through customs. I've been googling this stuff all day and that has been all mine has really said....regulatory clearance delay..at fedex facility...regulatory clearance delay...at fedex facility.

Has fedex updated your delivery date at all? I'm freaking out because I asked for the 23rd off of work as soon as I got my delivery date from fedex but I don't see how it can go from China to Hong Kong to Alaska to Memphis then to Florida in 40 ish hours. If that is even the path it is taking. (this is my first apple product so I have no idea. just basing this off of everyone else's posted tracking info)

Hopefully fedex just hasn't updated their site yet and it is already on the way to the states.

I really don't want to have to explain to my boss that I need to change my day off so I can get my ipad lol. But on the other hand apple has my delivery date as the 24th and fedex says the 23rd :/

Who knows which is more accurate....

I too have the day off for 23rd delivery and I'm also in Florida. I recommend you call and speak with someone at FedEx as their estimate will be far more accurate then what we'll gather alone.

How amazingly lucky. I only wish I had that luxury! Whenever I get a package from FedEx, it sits in a damn warehouse for days until they put it on a friggin' truck!

If the status is not updated tonight I am going to call them to confirm the delivery day. Apparently refreshing the page every 5 minutes isn't helping so maybe if I let it sit overnight it will update.

It's just annoying because before it even shipped I was checking the order status every 5 minutes to see if it shipped yet and reading threads to see how much earlier they usually shipped etc...Now that I know fedex has it the anticipation if a billion times higher!! I should have just not been lazy and went to best buy and got one there lol.

Finally reached an order specialist at Apple: they are inclined to think that this is due to the weekend and the crush of new iPhones coming though for delivery June 24. They also acknowledge that "some" packages could have been lost, but counsel patience as they expect meeting the indicated delivery date.

Your guess is as good as any, but one way or another Apple will make it right. It's hard to a wait ( and I am waiting in that same boat) and if they have to replace the order I would bet they will do it fast.
 
OK ironically enough my friend got one today from Apple. She opened it thinking it was a gift and then was like ok this is way too expensive to be a gift (just had a baby so gifts not uncommon) and it's not addressed to her - or an address near her.

Now she's worried cops are going to come after her b/c she opened it in her excitement of thinking its a gift.

Should she call Apple or FedEx? She checked the tracking and Fed Ex has it delivered to the right house with the signature by the adressee.... which it obviously wasn't. She's worried if she sends it back to Fed Ex that they'll take it themselves and not deliver it.

Ok the cops are not going to come...the same thing has happened to me although not with anything nearly as valuable. Did your friend sign for the delivery or was it just on her doorstep? Just wondering because it is possible that the person who ordered it pre-signed for it. I think I would contact apple about it because chances are...whoever didn't get their ipad is calling apple as well and then apple can remedy the situation.

The funny thing is she signed her name - and told the driver (a girl) her name - which is not even close to the name of the person it was for!! They confirmed the name and off the lady went.

That's what I was guessing is that she should call Apple :). Thanks! Hopefully she gets good brownie points from Apple. LOL

Did she buy it from Apple, or did it come via FedEx? Someone might of ordered it for her?
 
Well people, I now write to you from my iPad. It truly great, however, I recently noticed a dead pixel on my precious screen. I will be calling apple tomorrow to request they send me a replacement. Come on universe, give me a break. Anyways, hope you all enjoy your iPads when they arrive.

Since you live in FL how did your tracking go? If mine left alaska tonight and Fedex says it will be delivered Tomorrow (23rd) is that still possible?

You will have it tomorrow for sure. Once it leaves Alaska it arrives to Florida very very quickly. Fedex estimated delivery for tomorrow but it got here today.
