I was looking at Apple shop to compare all of iPad models together but found out old iPad Pros already have removed from every page and not available to buy anymore, well that's very soon to obsolete them while old models of iPhone still are ready to order! Is it fair?

They got rid of them cause they’re practically the same to the average consumer. They’d rather buy the cheaper iPad, which is the older one. The new ones wouldn’t sell that much if the old ones were still being sold.

I have the 9.7 and don’t really have any interest in upgrading.

Its to be expected. iPhones sell a lot more than iPads theres room in the market for the iPhone 6s a cheaper alternative to the iPhone 7.
The same can't be said for Pro iPads which are already a niche product. The iPad line up is fairly well laid out now with the Mini 4, iPad 2017 and the 2 iPad pros all having their own corners of the market, having another 2 pro models just doesn't make sense.

Apple moves inventory when new inventory arrives. The previous iPad Pro's (12.9 2015 Pro and 9.7 Pro) were discontinued. However, just because Apple removed those iPads from their line up, does not make them obsolete, it makes them Discontinued for sale from Apple's site. Both of those iPads still receive iOS support and updates.

Considering iPad sales have tanked, the consumer demand you cited is he very reason why Apple should have continued the 9.7 IPP.

Interesting that the Pro 9.7 outlived the Air 2 by only 3 months and only had a life span of 1 year and 3 months. The Pro 9.7 was crap from the very beginning. I'm glad I skipped that upgrade last year.

Is it fair? Lol. This is like what happens with Macs. New models replace the old ones. MacBooks, Airs, Pros, iMacs have all been like this for years.

When we got iPad (5th Gen) earlier this year I think the writing was on the wall that the new Pros would be just iPad Pro (and not any numbering anymore).

apple dumped them in the memory hole, too bad i liked it
Check out other sites, you may be able to find them on amazon, or macmall or something. Plus they may show up in the refurb store at apple.com

The 9.7” Pro was so crap, that it was the only iPad available in a very portable form factor with a true tone screen and 4 speakers for 15 months.

It hasn’t “outlived the Air 2 by 3 months”, rather the new model of not keeping older devices for sale has finally changed.

Take a look at the refurbished Apple Store. I mostly buy my Apple stuff here. Big discounts on older and current models.

Blah blah blah. 2GB of Ram. Nuff said.

Boat anchors work best when thrown overboard.

That's Apple's philosophy anyways.

My local Best Buy still has some for a not so sweet deal of $549 for 32 gig wifi model.

Much more sweetness now, $125 off and I believe all models.

Best Buy in my area still has decent stock, snagged a 128gb for $519 open box mint.

Better than Costco's current deal $599 128gb new. Best Buy's $125 new for that storage beats that Costco price.

It's for my niece's birthday, I am her favorite uncle. :)
