Soooo… i’m having trouble figuring this out, but it looks like Apple killed off the iPhone 11, as expected. Dropped the price on the 13 and 13 mini and 12 by 100 dollars each, but killed off the 12 mini, and has two $630 or $600 or what ever phones, and then it goes to the $430 se?

Did I miss something or did they drop the $500 model they’ve had for years?

I didn’t mind the mini per se, but hate that they used it as an excuse to raise prices $100.

I wish google and apple had phones starting at $100-200 and $430-450 wasn’t the “bargain” range. Especially considering how disposable these things are made to be in

The $499 slot is gone. I was expecting the 12 mini to fill it, but it looks like Apple isn't willing to reduce their margins on that model.

I'd expect the SE4 to fill that $499 slot in the future.

You can buy an android phone for $50. iPhones aren’t “disposable” and are more for the high end

You can’t buy anything decent for $50 since Microsoft quit making phones. The cheapest decent android phone is $450 with the pixel 6a.

And of course the iPhone is disposable. All these are. Sealed batteries and at best 5-7 years of updates, and sometimes not even that.

It depends on what you consider “decent”. I’ve used cheap android phones and they work perfectly for basic use.

Sealed batteries? You know just because it’s not old school and separate that doesn’t mean it’s not replaceable. Well everything has a set lifespan so if that’s your definition then people are disposable. Everything dies or breaks sooner or later. In seven years phone networks will have changed enough where getting a new phone makes sense.
