So far, that is.

Apple unleashed some pretty cool stuff this year - iPhone, completely redesigned iPod line, Leopard, Apple TV, new iMacs, new MacBook Pros, etc etc. I don't remember a year like this in the past...and it also seems Apple is getting more publicity then ever. Every day, Apple makes it to engadget, digg, gizmodo, cnet, etc etc and the macrumors community is more active than ever! Apple has become so iconic - you hear something about the company every day even if you're not into keeping up with the news/hype. Their stock is doing very well, too. So that's why I vote yes - this has so far been Apple's best year ever!

They got me hooked.

I bought my first iMac in Feb and I will never buy another PC again. Next up is a iPod touch and then a new Mac Book for the holidays.

It seems to have been a great year from what I can see. Bought my current Mac Mini earlier this year, and am upgrading soon to either MacBook or Mac Pro. Apple have definitely come to the forefront of the media this year and people are sitting up and taking notice again. As a recent switcher though, I think my views are utterly biased! :p

I'd certainly suggest they are close to the momentum they had in 1977, which makes me wonder if that's why Steve has a sense that they maybe close to a 'tipping point'.
