I'm glad Apple has started making people pay for Apple Intelligence access yet... but it wouldn't surprise me if it someday becomes a part of iCloud+ or something. 😶

I can't imagine OpenAI will allow 10s of millions of Apple users to use ChatGPT for free, unless Apple are giving them a cut from each device they sell. Generative AI is token-based, and some people will use it more than others, so I would expect it to be chargeable for extended use. I think that's been communicated already. Same on Android, Gemini is free for some use but then says you've run out of tokens after a long conversation.
