Hey everyone,

I’ve just bought an iBook G3 as a temporary solution until I can afford a new macbook (maybe next year…) Unfortunately, I believe that the battery is dead, and as dead as dead gets.

When I turn the laptop on, or when the laptop is off for that matter, it’ll try to charge the battery for about 7 or 8 minutes, and then give up. It tells me that there are “no batteries available.” I’ve tried resetting the pmu because I know the laptop hasn’t been used in a long time, but it had no effect.

The reason that I’m telling you this is that I want to find out if these are they symptoms of a dead battery, or is there a deeper problem. Everything else with the laptop works fine, in fact, I’m using it now.

Thanks everybody!!!!111!!!!1

The battery is a gone. You can probably find a new battery cheaper on ebay or here on the marketplace rather than going through Apple directly.
