Seeing all the people here posting about their yellow screens makes me very nervous since I have an i5 on the way. But how much of a problem is it really overall? Is it just the couple hundred here who have posted about it that had problems, and everyone else doesn't bother posting that their mac works fine? Any ideas? I'm hoping my chances are better than what is described by this forum.

I know 2 people that claim they haven’t got a yellow screen. Unfortunately I didn’t see those machines for my self. (living 150 km apart)
My self: waiting for machine 4... the previous 3 had the yellow.
I ordered 18 November 2009, and made trough al sort of solution rumours.
Nothing came trough... Week 47, 50 and week 03
So calculate your odds.... Yes only people with problems report them...
But that was my thought also before I opted for the yellow club.

A lot of people probably have no clue about this issue, the casual Mac user or the Mac enthusiast who chooses not to read Mac message boards.

Some people have no time to find out about this issue, but the people that MAKE time to post are usually the ones with the problem, while the others don't have a care in the world about their iMac.

Its been pointed out before, but I feel the demand has been so high that there are way more people who have no problems or don't NOTICE the problem that can go about their business with no problems.

The problem comes when you need precisely accurate color which is something that is advertised by Apple and it should thusly be delivered.

Most machines that I've seen have had it but differs in severity. I've seen some really bad urine screens but others where its barely noticeable. I have it slightly on my 21.5" but its very slight and really only noticeable when looking for it.

When it's slight, it's not a problem at all for most usage. For color critical applications, however, it complicates things. I plan on getting mine repaired once there is an actual fix.
