I havent upgraded to the betas at all am Im super curious how its been going for people? Experiences?
It seems to be completely redesigned from the one I tested during the 11.0 beta days. Back then you had a sync button in settings and sync indicators etc, now it's like any other iCloud switch (it's a mere "Messages" toggle in your iCloud page): seems to work seamlessly in the background, can anyone confirm or is my settings page bugged? I can't really test though cause iMessage/SMS is dead in my country, everyone is on WhatsApp.
The only thing I can find is the Messages entry in iCloud storage having a Disable & Delete option. It seems to also have a conversations list entry but that comes up empty for me.Is there any management tool? Like to go back and reset it/remove messages? A search feature? Its such an interesting concept.

Super promising. LOL.lets see
cannot delete attached images from any conversation overview like the delete button does not do anything.
some images show broken thumbnails
other images work in the preview but if you click on it, it opens some weird grey background with cryptic numbers on it
used space for iCloud Messages is all over the place
videos / photos in the iCloud messages locally storage settings do not match the amount of images that are stored in the app itself at all
Not sure what the „xy images in iCloud“ indicator is supposed to tell me?

I think it’s obvoius that your system needs to be installed from scratch. The problem you mention is not a beta related problem as I see it and will probably continue on your device even after installing the future sharp release. Not working great at all for me.
The switch wasn't in iCloud settings for me through any beta, at all, up until iOS 11.4 beta 4. Messages were not syncing, either. Then, it magically showed up when I installed 11.4 beta 4 and worked flawlessly. On beta 5, it's back to how it was before-- not working at all, no switch in iCloud settings, etc. I plan on updating to beta 6 later to see how it goes.
EDIT: Updated to beta 6, still not working. Whatever they did in beta 4 must have been reversed. Here's to hoping it's working when the official release comes.
I restore both my iPhone and iPad and set up as new every time a new XX.X beta 1 is released. Also, the fact that it's not working on ANY of my devices, even having done the restore and set up as new, makes me think it's iCloud account related.I think it’s obvoius that your system needs to be installed from scratch. Wow what would an iCloud repair look like?? So odd.I restore both my iPhone and iPad and set up as new every time a new XX.X beta 1 is released. Also, the fact that it's not working on ANY of my devices, even having done the restore and set up as new, makes me think it's iCloud account related.
I was also getting a little message that said I needed to repair my iCloud account at the bottom of my conversation list in Messages, which makes me think even more than it's account related (and out of my hands).
I'm not sure. When I got that message, I tapped on the "Repair Account" option and it looked like it was thinking. Then, the "Repair Account" option came back. That hasn't happened in a few betas, but I'm thinking a lot of the issues people are seeing with Messages in iCloud are account based.Wow what would an iCloud repair look like?? So odd.
I think they do hold some plists in iCloud preferences, no? That could be affecting things on a new install.
