It's sure nicer to have a bigger screen but the touch is so bad. It's got a delay that is really messing around with my brain. It's a shame , really.

The 4.1/4.2 updates dramatically improve that; the Nexus 4 won't seem sluggish, although I'd be quite surprised if it were as fluidly responsive as an iPhone 5.

Agreed. I've always said that screen size isn't an iOS vs Android thing (at least it shouldn't be). iOS would be glorious on a larger smartphone screen.

And since it seems Apple themselves don't believe their own claim that anything greater than 4" is unusable with one hand, everyone should be fine:

In the official iPad Mini video, Jon Ive explicitly says "...you can still pick it up and easily use it with one hand..." Easily! Earlier in the video, they make the distinction that you can hold it with one hand, but at the 2:10 mark, they're clearly talking about using it with one hand. Going by that reasoning, any device can be used one handed, yet according to their iPhone 5 campaign, one of the main talking points is that anything larger than a 4" smartphone is unusable with one hand.

So either the iPad Mini can be used one handed (like it says in the video) and therefore so can other smaller smartphones, or nothing above the iPhone 5 screen size (like it says in the iPhone campaigns) can be used one handed in which case the iPad Mini video is a lie.

So imagine iOS 7 not just redesigned aesthetically but with some major changes packaged in Apple's new larger 4.3 or 4.7" screen? Would be fabulous.

Of course, we won't see a design change until iPhone 6 in 2014...

The battery is amazing on the note 2 and there is no lag at all.

Try getting rid of the default widgets and try different ones. This is the solution I've read on other forums. I myself never had that problem though, touch has been as good as the iPhone for me.

Also, it could be carrier related crap.

I would also love to see iOS on a screen this big, but with much less restrictions.

I must admit that touch has never been a fault with me either, was as good as the iPhones I owned.

Have you tried Settings>Developer options and then turning Window animation scale, Transition animation scale and Animator duration scale all to either .5x or off.

HAving used the s3 since launch , and now using an ip4s , i can safely say if apple released a 4.3" + handset with re-scale-able widgets then they would be a much nicer experience , but the s3 takes it, lag and all, because they have a much more open world experience , more open widgets /layout choice apart from the physical differences.

Personally I loved the s3, and i LIKE the ip4s , i just wish apple would get their head out of 2008/9 and administer some needed changes to the os

Many of the phones at the stores have multiple apps opened so naturally the phone may seem sluggish. You need to close all the apps to really get an idea of true phone performance.

There must be something wrong with my S3, there is no lag and the screen is responsive and apps load frighteningly quick. I bought it and ran it for a month before I sold my iPhone 4S, if there had been any lag or response problems I would have sold the S3, I would not have kept a worse phone than I already had.

I then had an iPhone 5, I only had it two weeks before I came to the conclusion that it wasn't as good (IMHO) as my S3, neither phone showed lag or poor responsiveness, if the iP5 had performed better than my S3 then I would have sold the S3. Period.

After I had sold both my iPhones, my S3 was updated with Jelly Bean, TBH, I didn't notice much difference, it was that good anyway.

To sum up, I have had the iPhone 4S, 5 and Galaxy S3, I had an open mind, if anything, I was more pro Apple than Android, given any excuse, I mean any excuse, I would have kept an iPhone, I am heavily in the ecosystem, I have many other Apple products, the choice should have been simple, the iPhones had a head start, they had everything going for them, I also had read loads of bias against Android so was expecting the worse, but, in the end I picked the S3 over an iPhone, twice.

I never picked one through reading specs, looking at photos, reading others opinions, bias, or having a 5 minute play in a shop, I had them physically side by side for an extended period and picked the one that suited me the best, but if I found the user experience lacking in any way that phone would have gone.
