The group message shows 170 recipients in the to field and my message in the message field so thats all ok but what makes me unsure is the color of the message. Its blue in color and shows imessage. Out of those 170 guys only 20 of them have iphones the rest are all on sms. Shouldn't it have sent a green sms message as well to the rest?

Thanks

I have to ask how did you add that many names? I can't see selecting people one by one.

Only the CC and BCC have a "+" that, when you click it, your contacts list shows up and you can go through and check off the recipients.

I sent an email to many people re: a new email address using the BCC (blind cc) so no one knew it was going to a ton of people. Didn't have any name in the "To:" slot. Worked perfectly.

WHat does this have to do with sending a group text?

It answers the question on how to get a list to check off recipients. This list doesn't show up for the main "To:" There, you have to add each recipient individually. Only the BCC and CC boxes have the "+" where you have your entire contacts list with check boxes.

Yeah, but as he already stated twice, he didn't send an email, he sent a text. Your answer is irrelevant.

I prefer sending a mass email out in situations like these... you're the first that I know of to try text messaging.
