So im getting a 21.5in 4k Imac 2017

trading a guy my gaming tower for a 2017 4K imac 3GHZ core i5 8gb ram 512gb ssd any advise for good usb c to hdmi adapters the one my buddy uses he has to plug in after boot so it doesnt kernal panic his imac but i need at least 2 screeens

Long time gamer here as well (DOS, Atari, NES, ... modern). I've been an Apple fan for decades but only recently purchased my first machine. Well my first non-retro machine (I'm also a retro-computer).

It isn't HDMI, but I needed a Thunderbolt 3 -> Displayport cable and bought this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XTZZYKX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It's been flawless. Maybe 'Cable Matters' makes one you'd need?

If the monitor connects via DisplayPort, that’s he way to go. A USB-C to DP cable runs $16 or so.

There’s no such thing as a TB3 to DP cable. USB-C is just the port.

Fair enough. USB-C as a port and the various communications standards that use are a source of a lot of confusion and/or miscommunication. DE9 vs DB9 being an older version of the same thing.

well it would work already have a DisplayPort to cdmi cable that I used to use on my old gaming rig so I think that adapter will do the job il keep u guys posted getting the iMac Sunday
