I am still rocking my AW4 with 67% battery health. Without workouts, it will typically last me from 7am until about 8-9 pm using Modular face.

I was all set to upgrade to 10 but it seems like the most incremental change ever, so I don’t see any reason to pick it over 9 unless the battery life is noticeably better.

So far it seems to be about the same based on browsing through the threads.

Is this the case ?

Doubtful you will see any big difference. The iFixit teardown shows similar battery capacity. They both advertise 18 hours usage. If anything, the series 10 may get slightly less battery due to the faster refresh of the AOD. But hard to tell because every generation of Apple chips is about making them more efficient. I have a series 9 and was debating a 10, but I think I am going to stick with what I got for now.

Apple rates them both at 18 hrs, it all depends on your use case, some people get more, others less

Thanks. I’ve ordered a 45mm S9 off Amazon. It’s $100 less than the 46mm S10 and I don’t see any compelling reasons to spend that money. Also, I prefer the “midnight” color over jet black, which I suspect may be a scratch magnet.

Real world use, S10 46mm will last 10% longer than the S9 45mm.

Coupled with faster charging, the battery feels closer to the first gen Ultra.

No. I really disliked the battery life on my series 9. I’ve seen much better battery life with my series 10 than I did with my series 9.

Between the 6% larger battery, more efficient screen and more efficient processor, I’d say I’m getting about 25% better battery life.

OK, thanks for all the responses, but I already picked a midnight black 45mm AW9.

To be honest, nothing in AW10 justified - to me at least - the $100 difference in price. It's the cost of a battery replacement.

No, 1.094 is for Series 7 41mm.
Sorry, it’s even less for the Series 9. 1.091

“The 1.091 Wh battery is essentially identical to last year’s 1.094 Wh cell.”

1.091/1.226 =0.89 ish. So > 11% increase

No. 1.091 Wh is for Series 9 41mm. You can see the first photo on iFixit showing a 41mm case.

We’re comparing S9 45mm and S10 46mm in this thread.

The numbers I provided previously are accurate for S9 and S10, 45mm and 46mm, respectively. They come from Apple’s safety datasheets.
