Basically the title. I've yet to find any sort of implication of a new iMac Pro coming out. I would prefer to get it over the Mac Pro, which I can't justify buying when I consider my needs and budget (although I would love to have it ofc).

The iMac Pro seems to be a more sensible buy for me, and I'm not satisfied with the specs of the base Mac Pro model, considering it's price and a need to buy a separate display.

But I wouldn't want to buy an iMac Pro now, since both it and the regular iMac are in need of some redesign. Does anyone have any idea of new models, or at least refreshes, coming out?

The chips for the iMac Pro were recently released by Intel I think, and they will probably use the Radeon Pro W5700X (with 16GB of GDDR6 memory) which isn't out yet according to the Mac Pro order page. That's my guess anyway...think they will update it in early 2020 (before spring).

Well considering the recent 16" macbook pro is more powerful both with CPU and especially GPU than the 2019 imac, I'd imagine both the pro and baseline imac will be getting updates sooner rather than later. Otherwise you may as well just buy a macbook pro and external monitor to be better off lol

I want a new iMac Pro as well. I’d probably but one next year. Smaller bezels, WiFi 6, better CPUs, and a redesign. Not sure if we’ll ever see one though with all the Mac Pro hype.

There should be a new iMac line up. We all know greedy Tim doesn’t like to spend money on design Team but it has to be. Look at that iMac Pro can’t drive the new Pro display xdr at full 6k resolution but at 5K instead. That’s pathetic for a 5 grand machine. I would like to see new iMacs in 2020 with updates similar to 16” mbp but can’t be sure since Apple passed 2016 without any iMac refresh after the new macbooks.

Smaller bezels are cool as long as the monitor is switched off. But working 10 hours day isn't it better for the eyes to have a black surrounding that separates the background from the content of the screen?
