Are the new volume sets on speaker phone and normal calling better?
I notice a major difference in how the person I am talking to sounds... To me, it's clearer, more less "muffled," if you can imagine it. It's definitely an improvement.
The additional "sounds" (if you can call them that) are... well, bleh. But, they're a million times better than the crappy ol ones on 1.0. Nothing is better than customized stuff. Duh.
However, when I upped to 1.1.1 it intro'd a slew of crappy things. For example, I can no longer receive MMS messages from my girlfriend (who is also on Cingular, same account) like before (that crappy-ass'd gotothissitetoviewyourmmsmessageeventhoughitshouldabeenimplementedinthefirstplace.com site), along with now, when I try to email photos straight from the camera or photo library, my email crashes. For whatever reason.
It's a hell-uva lot better than my BB was (I had the curve), so I am happy with what I have. However, I can't go very long with even a remote bit of dissatisfaction.
I can't comment on the technical side of things... I use(d) apptapp before 1.1.1, and positively loved it, so I am "waiting it out" until they (hopefully!!!) release a revision that I can install.
