So I had my brand new mini in my bag with a bottle of water on Saturday. Different pockets, but I set my bag down horizontally for a bit and I guess the water leaked out of the cap. The mini was sitting in a puddle for a while. as soon as I realized I turned it off and blotted all the water out from around the speakers and buttons and left it for about 5 hours before turning it back on. I haven’t had any issues with it at all. Doesn’t seem to have affected it. I have applecare plus on it, would you take it in and get it checked out anyway or just forget it happened because it seems fine?

I would just use it and take this as a lesson learned not to put a bottle of water in the same bag as expensive electronics. Yes I've done it too and later thought maybe not such a good idea. If it somehow dies then that's when I would take it in.
