Since i still game quite a lot under Windows...and we don't know how and when Windows (x86 or ARM) would be installable on the ARM iMacs...am i correct to assume this last 27" is the last iMac to run Windows natively?
I can imagine driver hell, DirectX implementations, etc that is IF Windows on ARM is allowed to be booted alongside MacOS on the future iMacs...so playing AAA games is out of the question for a few years.
I have a desktop 5700XT now which i'm very happy with, i assume the 5700XT on the iMac is not so far away in terms of performance?
My monitor is 1440p so i'd be running same resolution on the new iMac. Only thing i'll miss is the 144Hz
Even in desktop mode...butter smooth.
One thing that i'm still wary about is heat&noise. I tested a while back a 2019 iMac with i5 and 580X and it was loud as hell under load. On the new iMac i'd stay with the lower TDP processors but go wild on GPU meaning 5700XT all the way.
