In the 9to5mac demo, they showed a few apps in landscape on the XS Max and then swiped up into what looked like a portrait home screen. So unfortunately, it doesn't look like the landscape home screen makes a return, which is a bit disappointing.
No word about increased wireless charging speed, but then again, I don't think they talked about the exact charging speed with the 8/X last year, so it might be that this has still been improved and Apple just didn't want to talk about it, similar to how they never talk about amount of RAM on mobile devices either. They don't want you to look at these specs. There were some rumors not too long ago about the XS supporting 15w instead of 7.5w wireless charging, so there's still a possibility that wireless charging speed has been doubled. We'll have to wait until next week to find out I suppose.
Landscape Face ID support hasn't been announced either, the only Face ID improvement seems to be the speed increase. Having said that, I don't think it's out of question that they deliver landscape Face ID support in a software update sometime later this or next year and just wanted to wait with the announcement for the iPad Pro redesign where announcing Face ID to now work independent of orientation makes more sense. The only feasible reason I can see why they omitted landscape Face ID support on the iPhone X in the first place is that it might have slowed down the unlock process too much to check the facial data in multiple orientations, especially since the original Face ID was already slower than the Touch ID process and they likely didn't want to slow it down even more. And this wouldn't be a problem anymore with the XS, thanks to its' massive Face ID speed increase.
