hypothetically speaking:

I get a new phone to replace my iphone.

will I still have to pay "30 dollars" for the iphone data if its not a iphone?

and what if i want to buy the new iphone?

AT&T, from what I've heard, will drop the mandatory data plan if you no longer have an iPhone.

If you want to purchase another iPhone, how long you've been in your existing 24-month contract will determine how much of a discount AT&T gives off the full price of the iPhone.

If you replace it with another phone you can drop the iphone data plan.
If you want to buy the new iphone you gotta check with AT&T to see when you are due for a hardware update or how much it will cost early update or full price update etc

u wont you will purchase any other phione at regular price (or you can do craigslist/ebay)

this is the case unless ure able to early upgrade/ upgrade

if not then ure sol in getting a new iphone. get ready to drop full price.

as for the data, u only have to pay 30 for iphones, blakcberries, and other smart phones that fully use data. all other phones if you want internet will be 10 dollars.

atnt is one a$$hole company when it comes to things like this.

What other wireless company operates differently in regards to replacing stolen phones? AFAIK, none of them "hook you up" with replacement phone prices, unless you're eligible for an upgrade anyways...
