Definitely the smaller one, and definitely frustrating since I often need to plug mine in while working and now I won't have a long enough cord to do that without a separate purchase.

All this perfection and then that garbage. Why Apple, why?

Because they can, and they know we will buy the extra cable, along with the USB-C charger they advertised for the iPad in particular... but stupidly didn't include with the iPad. instead it was shipped with the 12watt charger and 3' cable. *Uggghhh.

For every 2 steps forward Apple takes, they take 4 steps back... or they create truly incredible products with good prices... then bomb it on prices and features on many other devices. (like the iMac Pro, new MacBook Pros, and HomePod.)
They make amazingly powerful tech, but execute many of them poorly, and somehow they screw up on adding an accessory that would truly complete/compliment their devices.

Apple did great with their hardware releases this WWDC. But they knock it out of the park with their marketing fluff every time. And that's what allows them to do this kind of crap, actually downgrading the included accessories.

In my opinion, the moment it became evident that the 12W charger would not charge the 12.9 under full brightness moderate usage, they should have replaced them all under warranty. Either make a new charger, or include the 29W USB-c charger. It doesn't function as advertised.

If I had purchased my 2015 12.9 at full price under warranty I would have spent a lot of time with Apple arguing this.

Did the first generation 12.9 come with a 4' lightning cable (honest question, I assumed all these devices came with 3')?

Apple provided a 6' lightning cable with the 2015 iPad Pro 12.9.

It appears they are shipping a 3' lightning cable with the 2017 iPad Pro 12.9.

Grrrr.

Is it actually able to make it through the day? I wouldn't mind but on my first gen 12.9 it last about 3 hours with the brightness up.
