Looks like all trace (except the bar graphs) showing the 7800 GT on Apples site have been removed. It does leave people in a bit of an odd situation though - is it simply delayed or been canned completly?

I think this has been mentioned before but the choice of graphics cards is quite a leap. 6600 or QUADRO. No middle ground. Infact id like to see two 'middle of the road' cards there -- a lower end Quadro and a Higher end GeForce.

Does anyone know if ATi have any plans on bringing the X1800 to MAC? We have PCIe now so surley they will be willing to support it like they did previously? :) I hope something arrives in time for Christmas.

This has already been talked a lot in another thread: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/156211/

Also the 7800 should actualy be there, but only in mid-late november.

I agree, Apple should offer at least two "in between" grade cards. Sounds like the 7800 GT is on its way though.

Has nVidia filled in their line yet (7700, 7600...)? This would help explain why there aren't any mid-level cards. That, and we have never had many options.

Updated Apple Graphics Page

Hello all,

It looks like Apple has updated their PM graphics page to reflect some potentially good news. http://www.apple.com/powermac/graphics.html now indicates that the 7800GT will be "available soon". If true, that is certainly good to hear! What is not known, of course, is when, for how much, if BTO or add-on, and what about orders already placed. Stay iTuned....
