for some reason the way he talks, and his choice of words bugs the heck out of me. Anytime an ad with his voiceover came on I'd either turn off the volume or actually leave the webpage/video. Just couldn't take listening to his mumbo jumbo gobblygook. Man I'm glad I'll never have to hear him again. Personally I don't know him & he's probably a nice guy--- but man! The way he talks is so irritating. And I'm not referring to his accent, which is fine (and sounds nice).

When's the last time he did this? I thought he'd stopped for years.

Well, I think what others are saying, is that he always has some type of iPhone introduction in the middle of the demo, where he describes a feature over in the video itself, not literally introducing the iPhone on an annual basis.

That's what I meant as well. Not sure the last time he did a voiceover.

I guess he could still appear as a guest on occasions he's had significant input into a products design? It doesn't sound like he's being completely sealed away from the company, just not working directly for them any more.

The best way to pronounce aluminium.
I believe Sir Humphry Davy preferred Aluminum, but bowed to pressure that it should end in 'ium' to be more consistent with other elements.

I can't say I've found myself excited for keynotes and presentations for the last few years anyway.

I do agree that he was a major part of them. But I can't complain since I didn't even watch anymore lol.

At the risk of making some
Cliched statement about Steve, I just feel like some of the magic of the keynotes was lost after his passing. I watched for s few years afterwards but that was it. It's also possible that the steady flow of legitimate leaks leading up to events these days just doesn't leave for any surprises. We already know damn near everything here is to know about the best iPhone and iteration of iOS weeks to months in advance.

I wouldn't be surprised if he is allowed to give the design video speech that he has always done if he's the one designing it (the upcoming model). Who knows. We will find out.

As others have said, he is very annoying to listen to and you just want to turn the audio off when he starts talking. He just speaks in hyperbole and uses a level of abstraction that no one ****ing understands. I'm a Brit, and I find him annoying. I just don't understand why someone as smart as him does not understand how stupid and clinically insane he looks when he goes into a deep reflection to discuss something as simple as a touchscreen. It's impossible.

Someone in another thread said "he uses a lot of fluff to describe basic things". That's exactly the problem.

The less content he is featured in, the better. Sorry.

Maybe with him on the way out, we'll get a normal ****ing mouse from Apple one day soon without it being an ergonomic and RSI disaster.

“I’m a Brit, so I am the authority on Brit speaking”
“I also don’t understand stage fright”
“I don’t understand design talk”
“I don’t understand the Magic Mouse”

Your post is a lot of empty calories

He’ll probably be a part of the iPhone marketing with his voice in the demonstration videos/introduction this year, being I’m sure Apple has already been working on the iPhone 11 presentation long before his announcement of departure, either way, he had a pretty distinct voice, which I can see why they used him in terms of marketing the phone during keynote presentations.
