i have/had two 5th gen 30gb ipod video one of them the hard drive no longer wanted to hold music or anything. i tried everything that i could think and everything that i had found on the web...nothing worked. the other ipod hard drive was working just fine but the screen and headphone jack were crushed. so i had a great idea...so i thought. i took the hard drive from the one with the broke screen/jack and switched it with the one that has the bad hard drive. it started to power up :) the apple screen loaded but then it said the battery was low so i connected to my computer. then the sad ipod thing can up :( so i disconnected it and restarted it a screen came up saying to restore it so i connected it to my computer again but my computer wont even pick it up. then it just kinda flows though the apple screen / low battery / restore. any ideas of what to do now? i guess its not a huge loss because they didn't work the way that they were. i was just hoping that i could hold off on getting a new one for a little longer.
thanks a ton
eric
