I'm starting to get all melancholy. I bought my PowerMac last month, i wanted the iMac G5 because of its neatness, size and the fact it was silent and of course - looked nice. However i required more power than the Radeon 9600 offered and other things put me off. Any rumours of updates were aimed at the PowerBooks or PowerMacs, and were not very 'confirmed' around that time. Also the last system i expected to be 'updated' would have been the iMac or i would have prolly stuck out a little longer.

Now though, they seem to have fixed everything that put me off about it  so im sat here thinking seriously if i should part with my PowerMac and buy a new iMac G5 and save the ££££.

I paid just over £2700 for my PowerMac, a total setup (speakers/router etc).

So extracting the router and speakers.

The spec in my signature, you think i would get a significant amount of money back for my PowerMac to justify grabing that Mac or should i just brush it off and carry on. Maybe its just that 'christmas' feeling with new products arriving.

If I were you, I'd stick with the Power Mac. You'll lose money on the whole deal if you sell it, and you've got a more powerful machine than the iMac, with a lot of possibilities for future expansion.

No since in trading it if you need an "all in one" machine. You'd just be loosing upgradeable features, power, etc.

I'd keep it!
