Knock another one for Apple. Psystar, Palm, Nokia is next.
Why are you against competition? I understand that your wish is to have everyone fail and be left with one choice, but I feel that competition helps make products better. If no one attempted to compete with the iPhone Apple would have little motivation to improve the product. Competition drives innovation. All of the companies you listed (except Psystar) have came up with good ideas that drive competition. If you don't like the phones that other companies have developed then don't buy them.
As far as Palm goes they need to develop their own software to sync music and not hack iTunes. There are several companies now developing software to sync media on the Pre or Droid and Palm should look to them and do it the right way.
I see the clowns at Palm have given up on their itunes hack.
What does this have to do with competition, Palm using hacks to give the ability of the Pre to use itunes is competition? What planet are you living on. Psystar using Apple's software that Apple developed to sell their computers without permission from Apple is competition? Don't make me laugh.
implies that you want these companies gone.Knock another one for Apple. Psystar, Palm, Nokia is next.

Don't know why you would link Nokia in there. Have they tried to leverage off of Apple's work?
Your post
implies that you want these companies gone.
The practice is Apple limiting competition, but it's nothing new or unexpected. The comments about you celebrating competition seem to more be directed at the following:
Additionally, do you have any evidence to suggest that Palm gave up?
I have read everything you post and it is always the same. Apple is perfect. AT&T is perfect. Everyone else has junk. There is more to a good product or service then an Apple or AT&T logo. You are all about the brand. Brand matters 100% to you. I pick products that work for me first and worry about brand second. When you can drive across the United States with your iPhone and your 3G indicator stays lit almost the whole trip get back to me.
I agree that Palm needs to come up with their own solution, but I see that you conveniently left that out when you replied to my post. Your main goal is to bash anything that does not have an Apple logo. I have read enough of your posts to figure that out.
Isn't Nokia suing Apple for patent infringement? Seems like it goes both ways.
By that token, Apple shouldn't exist. Everyone steals a tad bit, everyone does some things that are questionable. It doesn't mean I want them gone. It means that in the end what was right decision happened. With Palm they've stopped hacking into itunes and got slapped by the USB group for stealing vendor ids and with Psystar the courts ruled against them for being the petty criminals that they are.
Seeing as how they haven't provided another hack for awhile, I would put it at them giving up.
Tad bit hostile, Nokia seems to have a tad bit of a case, which would make Apple two-bit criminals. Why don't you let the courts decide in the Palm case, if they truly are in the wrong, rather then going back to Kindergarden.I called out Palm for being the two bit hackers that they are. Sue me for doing that. I also called out Psystar for being the criminals they are. Again sue me.
As for Nokia vs Apple, its up to the courts to decide who is wrong.

And, just because they haven't provided a hack doesn't mean that they have given-up, by the same token, Apple has given up on the Cinema Display?

Coming from that angle you might be right though their last update didn't include a fix.

No, it's that the competition can't cut it on their own.
It's only a matter of time till the clowns at Palm give up on the existence of their company... The Pre is not going to be enough to let them survive, particularly with the magnitude of the Google onslaught into smartphones....
How is Apple not allowing Palm to use iTunes indicative of Palm not being able to "cut it on their own." It's clear it's a feature that Palm users would like and Apple would like to remain exclusive to the iPhone (and that random Motorola phone they supported back in the day.)
Actually Apple allows connection to iTunes if they do it through the official method. Many devices / software can connect / access iTunes fine.
So it's not limited to iPhone.
It's the whole Palm attitude of not doing it the right way that got them in trouble.
