I really don't know what to say.It was making this god awful high pitched noise whenever I turned on the isight camera in imovie. Figured it was a small problem and called apple care. They spent over an hour with me with no success. They kept saying they have never heard of this before and it should not be making the noise. They finally determined it was a hard drive issue and said I was to said this one back in the box they send and they would send me a new one...just wow. I thought thi was such a small issue.

too bad that you had that problem, but at least they are fixing it for you.

Agreed. It's unfortunate to have to send your MacBook back after just five days, but since Apple is sending you an entirely new MacBook you don't have to worry issues with that one anymore... and Apple probably wants to try and remove the squeeking gerbil from it. :D

Dead macbook after 13 days.

My macbook stopped powering up last thursday after 13 days of ownership. Called Apple support and we could not even reinstall the OS, we kept getting a kernel error asking me to shut down and restart. My apple store receipt showed I had one day left to exchange or return it. I had purchased my unit in Phoenix AZ while visiting my sister. I live in Florida. I drove 2 hours to the nearest Apple store the next day. They accepted to exchange my macbook and concluded it was DOA but could not tell me the reason or what was dead. It was my first mac ever and I concluded I just got a lemon and it happens. I took the opportunity to upgrade to a macbook pro 2.33GHZ core 2. I love it. It's been 5 days, crossing my fingers.

Oh by the way, I am a Microsoft certified engineers and love my mac..I convinced my co-worker who is a Microsoft MVP to get a mac and he just ordered a Macbook......now I am working on converting my local Microsoft Reps lol....shhhhh
