Hey macrumors, so i wanna know what you think and what you would do in my situation. I have the iphone 2g and originally i was just planning on waiting for the next iphone, you know the iphone 3GSS... but recently my iphones just been killin me performance wise, and damn that edge is slow, plus the no mms bs. O and with my luck, my phone fell off my desk the other day and just happened to land right on the vol up button, so now thats all janky... like it still functions, but its stuck in, so its super easy to hit it, and thats annoying.

Anyway, ive kinda been toying with the idea of getting the 3gs, money isn't really an issue, ive just kinda been like debating on waiting another.... year i guess for the next one, but damn... thats kind of a long time, and i figure if the next iphone is soooo amazing like some people are expextiing it to be, i could just sell the 3gs and get that or w.e

so what do you guys think, is the 3gs really that amazing and all its supposed to be... o and how have most of your batterys been, i see all these threads about people bitching about their batt, but whats normal for you?

I was in the same situation you were in back in August. Believe me, the 3GS is a great jump, I suggest it. However, a curious tidbit, I was also thinking for the next iPhone because I want Video Call and a different casing (I love the Al cover of the 1st Gen), but I said, screw it, I won't miss or need something I have never had anyways; except the Al back.

I still have my 1st Gen as a back-up. You never know;)

I upgraded to the 3gs from my first gen iphone solely because space increase. I didn't really have that much of an issue with the 1st gen's speed, but the performance of the 3GS is astounding. The only downside is losing that sexy aluminum back casing.
