I recently replaced my broken first-gen iPhone, and am wondering what I missed in the last 6 mos. that I've been unPhoned.

Anything exciting and revolutionary, like Simplify Media was?

I don't really need an app to fart for me. Not big into games, either. I'm quite happy with Jaadu VNC at the moment.

Has the app store slid into a 99 cent store? It can't possibly be all farts, clocks and flashlights, can it?

EDIT: Yes, I know the info is out there, but the idea of trudging through 6 months of app reviews is a daunting task.

You definitely never missed that part above.

So far Beejive for IM, which is really awesome up to date. A few real time multiplayer online games have popped in. So far still waiting for the most-awaited racing games, NFS. I can't think of other apps which can be considered revolutionary/exciting. There's a new update 2.2.1 - bug fixes.

The apps I enjoy are MakeAFace, Fastlane racing and Katamari.

For IM I'm using Beejive. You can send/receive files, and even send voice clips, which you cannot do on Mac Messenger, etc.

Barbie.

Thanks, Beejive looks great. I've been using the AIM app, and it's incredibly dull.

And as you can see, this forum seems to have been taken over with 45 different iMob and Mafia Live threads, all with the same basic topics.

Lot's of cool apps came out, but it all depends on what you're into.

Yeah I don't get it. What is so great about it?! Every day, a new mafia code thread pops up. I want it to stop already.

Your strength in the game is based on adding people via codes that's why people have been posting crazy.

Welcome back. As you can see, we are no longer Macrumors, but Mafiarumors. As you can see, even this thread has morphed into an iMob thread. Maybe we need a subforum?

Other apps you missed: more tip calculators, more menstrual calendars, a few more binaural beat apps, Christmas/New Years/V-Day/Easter countdown apps, more one-touch dialers, fart apps (of course), and about 8,000 games.

No ****. I reported one of the threads just to ask the mods if they could merge all of those stupid code threads into one but didn't even get a response as to why they didn't.

Well, it doesn't quite cover the entirety of the 6 months you're looking at, but our podcast highlights apps each week that we found interesting or noteworthy as well as looking at similar 'classes' of apps (Tower Defense games, Twitter apps, etc.) so it might be of some use to you. The first one where we go over what's on our Home Screens might be of some use too since a number of the apps we have there might be ones that are worth looking into since they're useful enough that we keep them on the main Springboard page.

unPhoned = sucks, bummer ... welcome back!

Hmmm ... unPhoned ... good idea for an app :D

Seriously, you missed a lot ... tons of wonderful apps, but on the flip-side, tons of KRAPPS ... we can help you with the KRAPPS part :D

Also ... not sure if you heard this ... rumor has it that Apple will be introducing a $19.99 premium game pricing level ... should be interesting.

Yeah, I apologize for even mentioning it. When I posted, I was pissed off filtering through 20 different threads to find the interesting ones, and this was the first one I clicked on. :(
